Why stored water requires attention

When process water is stored for longer periods of time, temperature, organic load, stagnation, sedimentation and microbiological activity can reinforce each other.

In buffer tanks and reservoirs, microorganisms can accumulate in the water, on walls, on the bottom or in connected pipes. This can lead to biofilm, slime formation, contamination or recontamination.

When this water re-enters the process, the microbiological load can spread further to pipes, filters, heat exchangers, membranes or other critical installation parts.
