Improving microbiological control of irrigation and drain water

In recirculating irrigation and drain water systems, water is reused again and again. This is efficient and increasingly necessary, but it also makes microbiological stability more important.

CWN assesses per installation whether nano cavitation can contribute to better control of recirculating water, as an addition to existing filtration, UV or oxidative treatment.

Why recirculating water requires attention

In recirculating water systems, water, nutrients, organic matter and microorganisms remain present in the system for longer periods of time.

As a result, microbiological build-up can occur in basins, pipes, filters, silos and other wet parts of the installation.

When the water load increases or conditions become favourable for microbial growth, water quality can become less predictable. This is often reflected in fluctuating analyses, recurring contamination or an increased need for corrective treatment.

If CWN is technically suitable, we validate this with a pilot under practical operating conditions. This allows you to see in your own installation whether nano cavitation contributes to more stable water quality and better control of the recirculating water circuit.

Does CWN replace existing water treatment such as UV, filtration or H₂O₂?

No. CWN is applied as an additional system technology. Existing technologies continue to serve their own function. The added value lies in the additional physical treatment within the water circuit.

Is CWN suitable for every irrigation water system?

Not automatically. Suitability depends on system volume, flow rate, water load, existing technology and the locations where microbiological build-up occurs.

Can CWN support the reuse of drain water?

CWN can be relevant when drain water is reused and microbiological load or system contamination becomes difficult to predict. We assess this per installation.

Where is CWN installed?

This depends on the installation. Possible locations include basins, silos, pipes or other zones where recirculating water and microbiological load come together.

How do we demonstrate the impact of CWN?

We define together which goals are important for your installation before starting. During a pilot, these are monitored through measurements and practical observations, for example water quality, microbiological load, contamination, corrective treatment and system stability. This makes the contribution of CWN visible within your own water system.
